About the award

Police Community Support Officers play a fundamental role in providing the community reassurance that Neighbourhood Policing is designed to deliver.

The winner will be a PCSO who has worked in partnership with their local neighbourhood to make a real difference in reducing crime and improving the quality of life for all the community.

Award Criteria for panel short listing:

• A PCSO who, on a day-to-day basis, has personal contact with their local community. They offer visible reassurance to their communities and help to improve the quality of life of local people.
• The PCSO makes a real difference in the neighbourhood by working with partners and the local community to identify and develop long-term solutions to local problems.
• The PCSO should be seen by their community, and their neighbourhood team, as an essential element in the life of the neighbourhood providing a shining example of the difference effective neighbourhood policing can make.
