Police Community Support Officer of the Year
PCSO Sean Ford being presented with his award by Dr Moira Hamlin, Chair of Avon and Somerset Police Authority.
The 2009 award was won by Sean Ford (Bristol), who is now training to be a PC but was previously based at Bishopsworth Police Station.
I was really surprised and happy to win. Just knowing that people want to vote for you and that they are really happy with the work that you do is a great feeling.
All the PCSOs do a really good job but to be announced as the winner in front of everyone makes it really special. It was really good for the people who
nominated me to be there and experience it with me too.

About the award
Police Community Support Officers play a fundamental role in providing the community reassurance that Neighbourhood Policing is designed to deliver.
The winner will be a PCSO who has worked in partnership with their local neighbourhood to make a real difference in reducing crime and improving the quality of life for all the community.
