Neighbourhood Beat Manager of the Year
The 2009 award was won by PC Joanne Jeffery (Somerset West) who is based at Wellington Police Station.
I was delighted to be nominated and very surprised to win. I do what I do because I care for the community.
"I believe in giving everyone some of my time and trying to do my best for them. The award has given me extra enthusiasm.
I've had a lovely night and am looking forward to getting stuck in again tomorrow.

About the award
The Neighbourhood Beat Manager is a police officer who plays a key role in managing a successful Neighbourhood Team.
He or she will work with colleagues, partners and the local community to provide sustainable solutions to local problems.
The winner will be a Neighbourhood Beat Manager who has provided a visible reassurance to their community, and has worked tirelessly with the local community to reduce crime and improve the quality of life for all the community.
